Mary Mason's 4th Birthday

Mary Mason officially turns 4 tomorrow, but we had her birthday party this past Saturday. She had a princess birthday and just invited girls to come dressed in their favorite princess dress. We did make-up and nails and they made their own crowns. They ran around, played, and had fun with Cinderella. At the end of the party, Mason let the girls start putting make-up on themselves and each other and it was too cute.

Fun Football Weekend

On Friday, the RV was packed and we were ready to go...Starkville bound! Mason and I took the kids for the weekend, and they had so much fun :). The Scarbrough's and the Lewis' came and tailgated with us on Saturday. While the daddy's went to the game, the mama's stayed back with the kids, and they couldn't have been better. For hours they ran around and played, and to our amazement they never cried, got hurt, got in a fight, or bothered us. Mine went without naps for 2 days and were in the best mood. The best part was how they crashed at the end of the night. We had so much fun with good friends and good food. Can't wait to do it again in a few weeks!!!

William celebrated his 2nd birthday with a petting zoo, and the kids had the BEST time. It was such a fun party. They rode horses, held rabbits, fed a goat, saw chickens, ducks, ferrets, and the turtles had races. Then, they rode a train around the backyard. It was such a fun party, and the kids had a blast!

Stratton turned 2 on Aug 27, and here are a few pics from his party. He LOVES trains, and I thought his inviations and cake turned out so cute!! He got a John Deere tractor for his birthday, and he doesn't get off of it. It took him about a day to get used to it, but once he did he really surprised us - he is a great driver. When he first got it, he and Mary Mason loaded some of their blocks into it, he took a ride in the trailor, rode his piece of cake around and then ate it out of the back, and then had a little time leftover to play with Leyton.

1st Busted Lip

While Mary Mason was enjoying her 1st day of school, I brought Stratton home where he played outside for 3 hours with our dog Sam and had so much fun until this happened. He was running as usual (the child does not walk anywhere), when he tripped and fell flat on his face on the concrete. Right above his upper lip was so swollen and torn up. He cried for about 30 seconds before he started digging in the dirt again. He's tough!!

1st Day of School

Mary Mason started school on Aug 11 :) She was so excited!!! She has such a cute class, and a wonderful teacher. She went right in and sat down with her best friend Allie Harris and waved bye to me. I thought I was going to cry, but I held it together. Stratton on the other hand fell apart when he had to leave. I'm not sure if it was leaving MM, or the new toys he had found...it was definitely leaving sissy.

Stratton LOVES trains. One day, he stayed outside all afternoon and kept lining his toys up from biggest to smallest to look like a train. Of course right when he would get them just how he wanted them, Mary Mason would run through and mess them all up, but he was happy to start all over again.

Swimming Lessons

Mary Mason took swimming lessons for the first time this summer. She did great thanks to Mrs. Harriet!!! I'm not sure why, but my videos wouldn't download, so here are a few pics of her. Wearing goggles and putting her face in the water were a HUGE deal, so we're very proud of her.

MM's 1st Dance Recital

Mary Mason took dance lessons from Becky Roberson this year and LOVED it!!! She would never show me what she was learning, so I was really excited about the dance recital so I could see. Mason and I were so proud of her that night - she and all of the others did such a great job. Melissa-Miles sent her flowers and a balloon, Uncle Bubba brought flowers, Aunt Me came from Memphis to see her, and the sweet Antici's brought her flowers too. She felt so special!! Thank you so much Becky for doing such a wonderful job and letting them have so much FUN!

The Beach

Mason and I took the kids to Orange Beach at the end of May and they had a blast!! Stratton had his face in the sand and was rolling in it in the first 30 seconds he was out there. Mary Mason had so much fun building sand castles and letting the waves chase her out of the water. They both had such a good time in the ocean and on the sand - and they both slept great every night!! We are so glad we got to take them and watch them have so much fun on the beach since we don't know how long it will be until we can go again :(

The kids were so excited to go see Mason at work. I looked away for a few seconds and found Stratton half way up the ladder climbing into the tractor with a big smile on his face. After we sat in it for a while, he jumped right into helping Daddy and D fix something. He found a tool and went to work. I didn't think I was going to get him to get in the car to go home. He was so happy - and DIRTY!!

Last Saturday, Meri Lee and I took the kids to the Orpheum to Storytime with Nick Jr. It was hosted by Moose and Zee and Ki Lan, The Backyardigans, The Wonder Pets, and Stratton's girlfriend DORA were there. The had such a great time, and Stratton finally got his Dora doll!!

Today we celebrated Bryant & Lucy Kate's 2nd Birthday!! It was so much fun - they had an ice cream parlor and a few surprise guests! The weather was perfect and the kids has such a good time. Again this year, they donated their gifts to the children at LeBonheur. When we got in the car to leave, MM said, "Whew! That was a fun party!!" - and then they both took REALLY long naps - Yay!!! Disney/Florida Trip

Last week, we took a quick trip down to Florida. We spent 2 days at Disney, and then went and spent 2 days with Mason's grandmother and 2 uncles. We had such a great time. The battery in my camera died, so I will have more pictures to show later, but here are a few from the trip. Stratton and Mary Mason were exhausted by the time we finally walked into the park, they were both passed out in the stroller. It was truly a magical experience for Mary Mason, and she can't wait to go back!

Meri Lee picked Mary Mason up and took her to my mom's house for a few days. It was sooooo quiet at my house while she was gone - Stratton was lost without her. They shopped for Angel Tree, went back to Canton Square to look at the lights, and played around the house since the weather was so bad outside.

Jackson Trip

We stayed at my mom's house during Thanksgiving holidays, and Mary Mason and Stratton had such a good time. MM made a bird feeder that she hung outside, we went to Canton Square to see all of their Christmas lights where we rode lots of fun rides, and Stratton became friends with Santa Clause.

We spent Thanksgiving in Jackson at Mason's aunt's house. We always have such a great time. We eat good food, and then have a great time playing games (musical chairs, hula-hooping competitions, bobbing for apples, popcorn races, etc.) The kids had so much fun, and we can't wait for next year! Dance Class

Today was Mary Mason's 1st day of dance class. I'm sure you can tell from the picture just how excited she was to be there. She really was excited to go, but she will never smile for me when I want to take her picutre. Stratton FINALLY stopped crawling this week, and started walking everywhere. For a few weeks he practiced but would only walk across the room. Then, he got sick and had a little setback. But Monday morning he stood up and never sat down. He's been walking everywhere ever since!!!

Mary Mason and the other children at church sang "I Sing a Song of the Saints of God" for EJ Mullens baptism today. She practiced for 2 weeks singing non-stop around the house. When it came time for her to sing at church, she went up front but didn't really sing. Here she is singing a little bit of the song at home when she wasn't so shy.

We had such a fun Halloween!! Mary Mason dressed up as a princess, and Stratton was a frog. I even joined in on the fun and dressed up as a princess with Mary Mason (no picutures of me in my costume though). We got together with friends and had pumpkin painting, a hay ride, and trick or treating. Everything was going great until Mary Mason fell down and hurt herself, and then we had to cut the night short and go home to clean her up. We didn't get to finish trick or treating in our neighborhood, but we had a great night anyway.

Jeep Ride

So it's been about 3 weeks since Mary Mason got her Barbie Jeep for her birthday from Uncle Bubba (Matthew). She wouldn't ride it the day she got it, and kept telling me she was scared of it. Mason took her outside Friday afternoon and talked her into climbing in. Once she hit that pedal, she had a smile plastered across her face. I don't know who had more fun, Mary Mason or her passenger. Stratton loves playing with the radio and really wants to drive. If you live on or near our street, watch out for the newest driver in the neighborhood.

Cedar Hills

A few weeks ago, we piled up in the car (3 adults & 5 children) and headed to Cedar Hills. The kids had a blast!!! We all had a picnic, went on a hayride and to the pumpkin patch. They rode ponies and a train, and saw all kinds of animals. The weather was perfect and we all had a great time!

I took Mary Mason on her 1st trip to the zoo last week. She had such a good time, except her almost 3 year old attention span really showed. She would be so excited to see the animals, and when we got to them about 5 or 10 seconds would go by and she would say, "Ok, let's go see something else." I took Stratton to the doctor Wednesday for his 1 year old shots and checkup. He's doing GREAT!!! 23 lbs and 29 inches + 16 teeth!!!! We go back in 3 more months for another checkup. I can't wait to see how much he grows. Sorry, no pictures, I forgot to take my camera.

Easter was a wonderful day. We went to church and then to eat with Mason's family. I tried my hardest to get both the kids to cooperate for pics before we left, but y'all know how that goes. Stratton had a great time posing and showing off, but Mary Mason didn't want to have anything to do with sitting still and smiling. I got a few cute ones. I smile everytime I look at him b/c he always has the sweetest grin, and that dimple gets me every time.

Okay, so I absolutly LOVE to dress Mary Mason up, and holidays are my favorite. I loved her Easter dress so much, I didn't want her to wear it because I was scared she would mess it up. I am so excited to say that Mary Mason has been 100% potty trained for about a month now. She is wearing her big girl panties all day and all night and is yet to have an accident. I took Stratton to the doctor Wed for his 6 months shots. He's up to 19 1/2 lbs and 26 1/2 inches (6 lbs and 2 inches in 2 months). Wow!! He LOVES to eat and is growing so fast. He has such a good time in the bathtub splashing around, and I love the way his big tummy looks in his bathtub seat!

Family Update

We are on day #3 of the big room switch. Mary Mason has done great in her new big girl room, and Stratton has settled into the baby bed. MM's also been going on the potty more often (YEA!!!) and wearing her big girl panties. I can't believe how fast she's growing up. Stratton is almost 5 months old and teeth # 3 & 4 are on their way. The second one definitely goes by faster than the 1st child. Kathy is still holding our family together by helping us as much as she does, and she has no idea how much we appreciate her help. Mason has just left me for 3 days to go hog hunting, so everybody pray that I keep my sanity while he's gone.

Our Thanksgiving holidays were great. We spent 3 days in Jackson and had a wonderful time. I dropped my new camera and broke it, so I don't have any pics from the holiday. Stratton started teething last week - two little ones coming in on the bottom. He's gotten really good at holding his head up and looking around while laying on his stomach. Mary Mason is busy as usual, never stopping to catch a breath. We're getting excited about Christmas and are finally going to decorate this week.
